The DNA Interest Group was formed in 2005 and held its first meeting
in conjunction with the International Society of Genetic Genealogy (ISOGG)
in July 2005.
The group focus is to provide education to assist genealogists to understand
the DNA test processes and interpret their test results.
Since 2005 there have been many changes in the types of DNA test services, the
number of DNA test companies for genealogical purposes and evolving databases
and tools for analytical purposes. Project administrators coordinate across
the various facets of genetic genealogy to help lead the DNA Interest Group
members into the future.
